When the Licking River overflowed its Falmouth (Ky) banks in March, flood waters caused nearly $29 million in damage. In fact, homes and businesses were so devastated that local officials plan to rebuild the city on higher ground. To aid cleanup efforts and haul relief materials, Cincinnati's ProLift Industrial Equipment donated an 6FGCU25. According to Mike O'Connor, general manager: "Our hearts go out to all of the families affected by the flooding. Everyone at ProLift is glad we could help in this time of need." ProLift's generosity coincided with a $500,000 donation to the American Red Cross by Toyota Motor Corp. (TMC) and its U.S. subsidiaries, Toyota Motor Sales and Toyota Motor Manufacturing North America. The relief organization used the money to aid flood victims in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia, the states where Toyota has a variety of operations. TMC President Hiroshi Okuda commented: "We are very concerned for the victims of this disaster. The people of these states are part of the Toyota family, and we want to do everything possible to help speed recovery efforts for them." |
