| ANDRES TAKES HELM OF A 'MATERIAL HANDLING TRADITION' |

Rich Andres became part of history April 2 when he purchased Hayward's (Calif.) Perin Co., which now operates as Toyota Material Handling Northern California (TMHNC) through Toyota Industrial Equipment's Dealer Assistance Program. Andres, who joined Perin Co. 12 years ago as service manager and recently served as vice president and general manager, couldn't be happier with his new position as dealer principal of TMHNC. "I am thrilled to be at the helm of a 75-year-old northern California material handling tradition," he said. The company, founded in 1921, is the second-oldest Toyota Industrial Equipment (TIE) dealership in the United States. It began selling Toyota forklifts in 1968, just one year after TIE introduced its product offering to the U.S. market. During his tenure, Andres has seen the company grow from 32 employees in 1985 to 120 today. He attributes much of that expansion to a proactive approach to earning and dealing with customers--and his dealership's commitment to them. "We believe in taking care of our customers and sticking with them," Andres noted. "We want to be a 'one-stop-shop' that serves all of our customers' needs." |
